Fullerton Sign Designated Historical
If you’ve driven on North Harbor Boulevard near Youth Way in Fullerton, you have most likely seen the 15-foot-high neon YMCA sign.
This notable landmark, which has been standing tall for over 60 years, represents YMCA of Orange County (YMCA OC)’s rich local history and the impact the organization has had on the local community. On March 17, 2021, this iconic sign was designated a historical landmark by the City of Fullerton. Featuring contemporary letters and a triangle representing mind, body, and spirit, renowned architects and Fullerton residents Charles Wickett and Louis Reinhardt designed the sign in 1962. As YMCA OC continues to serve the Fullerton and greater Orange County community today, the notable neon sign serves as a positive reminder of the decades-long impact that YMCA OC has had on the community.
